Homework

Bohermore Community Project is keen to work in partnership with schools to make sure that our youth services are reaching our tasks in youth development and educational purposes. We offer to the youth a space and mentoring support to fulfil the needs in our community. Homework is one of our activities that between our staff and volunteers, together we provide, to make sure that young people attending to Bohermore Community Centre are achieving goals towards education and wellbeing.

As well as that, we provide our own educational after school schedule, that involves recreational activities, arts and craft, movie making, music and technology education, leading the youth to be creative rather than consumers towards technology.

After School - Drop In

Drop In is base on different activities split within an age range between youth participants.

Every day we offer a vast variety of games, arts and craft, movie making, photography, technology education, cooking and more...!

Our priority of to focus on peers that will come on a stronger bounds to lead the community to a better environment within society.

This is a great space full of joy, creativity, inclusion, respectfulness and awareness.

Bohermore Ladies Club

The Bohermore Ladies Club was the first community group to be formed in Bohermore and went on to become part of the Bohermore Community Project. Our first group meeting was held in No. 13 St. Finbarr's Terrace, Bohermore in October 1982. 37 years later, we are still a strong group with good, lifelong friendships formed. We are now a group of 15 as some of our members passed on but they are very often remembered with love and happiness. We have been involved in various activities including painting, decoupage and many different arts and crafts.
Throughout the years we have participated in many fundraising events for charities at home and abroad.

We visited Áras an Uachtaráin in 2004where we met President Mary McAleese and her husband Martin. One of our greatest achievements to date has to be the publication of our book "Thirty Years of Memories and Stories". This contained many fond memories of bygone days and was a huge success. As a group we have traveled the length and breadth of Ireland for both educational and recreational purposes. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Sr. Maura Winston (RIP) who helped form our group and stuck with us through thick and thin. We also thank our funders; without their help and support many of our activities would not have been possible. We meet every Tuesday night at 9 p.m. and welcome new members. The Bohermore Community Project CLG would like to congratulate the Bohermore Ladies Group on their 37th anniversary.

“Time Out Ladies Club”

Time Out Ladies Club

The “Time Out” Ladies club was established in 1996 as there was a
need in the area for young women to come together and have their own
space to unwind and enjoy adult company. We have 12 regular
members and after 20 years in existence we have become more than
just friends. We support each other in good, difficult and hard times. We
are there for each other in times of celebration, sadness and the many
milestones we and our families have reached over the last 20 years. Our
activities include Creative Art and educational outings as well as
enjoying a group night out together at Christmas time that help us form
even stronger bonds.

Senior Citizens Club

The Senior citizens group was established in 2002 with the help of Anna
Killeen and Bridget McPhilbin, to give the more mature residents of the
Bohermore Area a place to meet and socialise once a week.

They meet on a Friday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm. The group have 10
regular members who actively participate in regular group outings and
weekends away throughout the year. The group enjoy their Friday
sessions with a game of bingo, a space to meet and chat, continue to

build friendships as well as share information on health and welfare and
keep informed in upcoming events.

Monday Night Ladies Group

Our group was established in spring 2013. There was a need in the area
for young women, most of whom are young mothers with small children
and babies, to have a space to call their own. Our group gives young
women breathing space away from our busy family life to share
parenting advice as well as getting together to support each other and
enjoy each other’s company. Our years together has been extremely
enjoyable and exciting. We have learned many new skills, formed new
friendships and are growing strong and more confident as a group.

We believe all members of our community can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
